Silverback Patrol Outing
On May 19th and 20th the Silverbacks did an overnighter hike in/hike out at Battle Ground Lake State Park. The patrol was preparing for the June camp out at Siouxon Creek. This was a 2 mile hike into the campsite around the lake and an overnight camp out. We had dinner and a campfire with marshmallow roasting and a good nights sleep. We were up bright and early Sunday morning and had breakfast done and camp struck by 8:30 AM. It was a good shake down run for some of our newer members who had not hiked into a site with their pack before and it gave the rest of us a refresher about pack packing and planning/prepping for a camping hike. I think that everyone learned or relearned something and we all had fun..
