Fun in the snow!!!

From all the comments and pictures on Facebook the snow outing this past weekend was a major success. Congratulations to all those that partook and to the adults that made it happen.

Keep an eye open on the CPC BSA website for upcoming training opportunities. Todd Macdonald is working at organizing a major Outdoor Skills training weekend at Camp Meriwether this fall.

This is all I have for now so, until the next time, remember “Do a Good Turn daily”.

For our parents that shoot

Cascade Pacific Council’s Shooting Sports Committee will be doing three firearms training sessions at Camp Merriwether on Feb 17 to 19, 2017. One of the trainings will be Pistol Instructor for those adults that have already passed the Basic Pistol course by the NRA. The other training sessions will be Basic courses for Rifle and for Shotgun. These are NRA courses and are pre-requisites for taking the Rifle Instructor or Shotgun Instructor rating courses that will be offered in future sessions.

Further information will be available on the CPC website under Training closer to the dates (probably about mid to late December) and I will do my best to keep the information up-to-date on this blog.

Fall Catchup on the blog

Well, first I apologize for letting this get so far behind. I will try to keep it a little more current in the future.

It is Recharter time again. Mrs McQuown has all the details and is trying to find out just who will be rechartering again this year. We do know that the fee for adults is $24 dollars. That is the fee that the Troop is charged by National.

THIS SUNDAY, October 2nd, is Fall Court of Honor. All the patrols know what items they are to bring and each scout is asked to bring a 2 liter beverage of their choice to share. The event will be at Camp Lewis in the Big Shelter. The time is 1:00 PM. Don’t miss out on this big event!

Last, but not least, Jason Williams, Life Scout Extraodinaire and Eagle Candidate, is doing his Eagle Project on Saturday October 8th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Please offer to help him, Eagle projects require lots of help and support. It is also a good way to get in some service hours and almost everyone needs them. What and Where info will be available from Jason at the Court of Honor.
